WREC's tour of green infrastructure

Green Tour

Every year, WREC and our partners host a tour highlighting green practices your neighbors installed to improve water quality and habitat within the community.

2024 Winter Sowing Workshop

Join WREC staff to learn how to winter sow native plants! Participants will learn how to winter sow and will take home planted seeds at the end of the workshop. Winter sowing is a simple technique used to start native seeds over the winter that involves planting native seeds in clear plastic jugs. These containers will sit in an outdoor space (exposed to snow, rain, and cold) all winter, and will, ideally, have sprouts of native plants you can plant in May.

WREC will provide one plastic gallon jug per participant, potting soil, seeds for one jug, and tools for this workshop. If you have native seeds that you collected or bought, feel free to bring them! This is a hands-on activity, and each participant will get to take home at least one jug of damp soil planted with native seeds.

Registration is full! Sign up below to join the waitlist for the event. You will be notified if you are able to be a participant in this event.
